Nocturnal Adventures
When the moon started to sing a lullaby to the trees, I climbed up my
bed and didn't stop there. I continued on until I was up on top of the hill
overlooking the valley. I walked down the opposite trail to the town at
the foothill telling everyone,
"I'm passing through, ...just passing through."
I walked across town through the field, over another hill until I came
upon the equator line and it was hot as you know what (censored
word, of course) and I felt as though I was about to combust, so I left
the spot with very little regret, heading for the famous Dead Sea.
I felt queasy. Would I see a lot of bodies floating around? (It's said
objects float there, you know, because of the large amount of sodium in
the water.) Not wanting to encounter the unpleasant aspect, I headed
South, I wanted to see a kangaroo or two but I didn't see any.
Instead I met up with a desert tortoise that decided he wanted to
become a pet and followed me home, but home wasn't there any more;
there was an earthquake and I could feel the rumbles and the shakes
and some shouts ringing in my ears,
"....., wake.... you'll................appointment!"
