Bullet Bullet

The Enthralling Zelda

Light arrow at work. Die!! Ganondorf, die!!.

Back in time I'm not a crazed video gamer but The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time had enthralled me for a few good weeks. I mean I would be sitting in front of the TV with the game control pad in my hands. I only stopped for food, bath and sleep. The next morning I would be back at the same spot again.

The castle is falling! It's very understandable because the game was created by Mr. Miyamoto whose brilliant design gave it a very high rating among other games. The 3D graphics and the camera design were exceptional. The story line, the dungeons, and secrets were built up from one level to another level continuously. You would not be lost between missions because Mr. Miyamoto also thought of giving you a reminder known as the fairie, 'Navi' whom some of the gamers had voiced that they wanted to kill.

Well, I admit she was quite annoying at times, but I had never really wanted to get rid of her. After all, she was my companion. She gave me hints and tips on how to defeat the enemies. she also gave me a warning when an enemy was near by. What more could I ask for, right?

There were also quite a few of those 'Kodak moments' when Shane (it's a role-playing game, so naturally I was Shane) drank his milk or potion to restore his status and I would forget to switch the bottle back to the weapon he was carrying. He would take a swipe at his enemy with an empty bottle. I had to laugh when that happened.

The last battle begins. What makes the game fun is the challenge that you should find all the secrets, the hidden items and so on. I hate to admit that I have acquired only 99 skulltulas so far. I've been roaming all over the place; I can't seem to find the last one. A dark thought had entered my mind; I must have got the evil cartridge that Mr. Miyamoto purposely left out one skulltula just to annoy the unfortunate gamer. :-p

At last, I'm not a true master...mistress (Being a true master, you have to have collected all of the hidden items), but I can at least boast that I beat Ganon twice. And I forbid you to ask how well I did at the arrow shooting range. Ha-ha!
